God loves a cheerful giver

"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).

For our St. Nicholas donors, charity is a way of life. It doesn't mean that they are billionaires, but that they know the joy of giving! It is a gift of the Holy Spirit to be a cheerful giver. Whether it's just a few dollars or a few million dollars, it's still a gift to be generous.

Someone once said to me that if I ever won the "Megabucks" I would be terrible because I would give it all away. That's probably true! I would give it to my favorite charity--the Kurn Hattin Homes for Children!

Think about how exciting your life could be, too, if you devoted your life's work to being a cheerful giver. Imagine if you asked your kids and grandchildren what they want to be when they grow up, and they said to you, "I want to be a cheerful giver!" Wouldn't that just blow your mind?! You'd wonder where did they get that from?

It's a truth that the more one gives away, the more the Lord provides. Just the other day, I prayed to St. Nicholas that we could get some more donations for the children's home and then, totally out of the blue, a check for $200 arrived followed by another check for $115. Of course, I mailed them right down to Kurn Hattin. God provides for us in a variety of ways and the more generous we are the more He provides.

Please be a cheerful giver and make a donation today to the Kurn Hattin Homes for Children! God bless you!
