Oh, Star of Wonder, Star of Night....

On December 21, 2020 something occurred in the sky that last happened about 400 years ago in 1623. Saturn and Jupiter aligned in what is known as the Great Conjunction. These two planets, whose orbits superimposed, appeared as one single, bright shining light in the sky--like the star which shined over Bethlehem 2,000 years ago at the time of the Magi's searching for and finding of the baby Jesus.

The Scriptures tell us that the Magi were "overjoyed" at locating Jesus, Mary and Joseph. That is my hope for all of you, our St. Nicholas Project donors; that, as you bring gifts to the Kurn Hattin children, you, too, will be overjoyed at the tremendous opportunity offered to you as gift-bearers.

I am saying special prayers for all of you in this New Year that your works of charity for the children's home may so fill you with joy that you will overflow!! Let others see your overflowing joy and tell them how to be a part of it. Be a St. Nicholas Project donor for the kids!

Thank you for remembering the boys and girls at Kurn Hattin. For many of them, they, too, come from very humble circumstances and depend upon the charity of strangers.

Thank you for keeping your eyes open to their needs and responding so generously. Thank you for giving them hope during this New Year filled with expectations of a better life.

God bless you!
