The Anchor and the Sailboat

Guest blog by Laura Duquette

I have always loved the ocean and its surroundings. The sound of the waves, the scent of the salty air, the warmth of the sun shining down and, of course, seeing the beaming lighthouses and the ships swaying in the water. One feels so carefree being in this beautiful scene; however, we must also acknowledge the ocean's power and the experience needed to navigate its waters.

In so many ways the experiences the children have lived through before Kurn Hattin Homes are like an ocean during a storm. When faced with difficult circumstances, they can be likened to big, angry waves that are unforgiving and often life-threatening!

Once at harbor though, the ship anchors itself safely. Kurn Hattin Homes serves as an anchor for the children. They provide a stable, safe place for children to live and learn, where they can be grounded and avoid drifting back into the difficult waters of despair and danger they are not well equipped to handle.

Do you want to know the best part of it all? When YOU decide to financially support Kurn Hattin Homes for Children, you are contributing to their caring mission. YOU help provide for the needs of the children by giving them a stable anchor in life and allowing them to experience life in beautiful and safe surroundings! YOU help them learn and grow and feel cared for so that, eventually, when they are confident and experienced enough, they can set the sails of their little boats and begin to navigate the waters of life into successful futures as they sail off to new harbors!

Please donate to Kurn Hattin Homes so they can continue to provide that anchor the children so desperately need now so that later they can sail off into a beautiful sunset!
