648 bars of soap

Today a lady came to me at church and said, "Father, I have some bars of soap for the children's home." I thought that that was wonderful and that they could use them in the cottages where the children live. I was expecting a couple of packages of soap. Imagine my surprise when we unloaded from the trunk of her car nine boxes of soap each one containing seventy-two bars! That makes six hundred forty-eight individual bars. Holy hygiene, Batman! Three men carried them into my parish hall where they are awaiting delivery to the Kurn Hattin Homes for Children. Well, maybe not all 648 bars; we'll see what is reasonable. The others will go to local homeless agencies.

As extravagant a number as that was, I was even more deeply touched by this woman's generosity. Our St. Nicholas Project donors think big! And that is why they are so wonderful. Whether you are donating soap, money for food cards, socks, clothes or Christmas cards, the St. Nicholas donor family is amazing. Why? Because your love for the boys and girls knows no limits.

So, the next time your'e using soap at the sink or in the shower, I hope you'll remember this story and that it will bring a smile to your face. It's a story about extravagant love for the boys and girls at the Kurn Hattin Homes for Children-and how God touched the heart of this donor to "think BIG."

Please make a financial donation today to help the boys and girls at Kurn Hattin. (We have enough soap for a while). Let God touch your heart with the same kind of "thinking BIG."

God bless you!
