The Christmas stockings

A few nights ago, one of my parishioners arrived at my door with some truly beautiful, handmade Christmas stockings that she had previously sold at our parish Christmas bazaar. The bazaar is not taking place this year, so she decided she would donate them to The St. Nicholas Project so we could sell them as a fundraiser for the Kurn Hattin Homes for Children. I was thrilled and speechless! It was so thoughtful and I was deeply touched by her generosity!

They are made with exquisite Christmas patterns, bold colors and have antique buttons or other tiny ornaments sewn on them. I am quite impressed by the craftsmanship that has gone into them. I can't even image the number of hours it took to make them!

I had been feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work that I have every day here at my three churches and I knew that I didn't have the time or energy to devote to a Christmas fundraiser this year. So, this event will be a limited offer to the first twenty people who contact me about purchasing a stocking.

I am constantly amazed at how God touches the hearts of our St. Nicholas Project donors to be so generous. They remember the boys and girls at the children's home in so many ways. Patty, thank you for being an answer to my prayers !

Please make a donation today to support the Kurn Hattin Homes for Children and if you want to be one of the exclusive twenty people to purchase a handmade Christmas stocking, please let me know. God bless you!
